The western feel is created by the snare drum rhythm (horses running) and the twangy country sound of the guitar. Maybe the whistling sounds help to create the idea that the cowboy is whistling while he rides over the country side.

Pac Man - Composition/Performance mini task

Hi guys,

If you go here you can play Pac-man online.... which is just cool in itself.

BUT.... I want you to turn the sound down and have a go a creating some original pacman sounds for the game.

Have a think about what sounds are used already (eating dots... eating ghosts... winning... loosing) and create some little motifs that will work for you.

You can do this in pairs using a macbook each...

One person can go on and play Pac-Man (yay!) and the other can have garageband open with a keyboard attached and play some tunes in and have some ideas for the events that take place.

If you like maybe a few people in the class can jam together each on having an event that they need to play for as it happens.

Have some fun and see how you can work together to make some gaming music and effects!
